Outside the Classroom

Life at the school as a student is much, much more than what happens in the classroom. Along with the annual schedule of events and activities, there are countless opportunities to participate in other aspects of the community. Both OIS and SIS have rich programs of camps and there are sports teams practicing and competing all year round. You can read here about the participation of our students in events shared between the two schools.

2010年度獨協大学主催 全国高校生ドイツ語スピーチコンテストで入賞
　7月末に獨協大学(埼玉県草加市)で第12回「全国高校生ドイツ語スピーチコンテスト」が行われ、SISから1名がみごと予選を通過し、本選で3位入賞を果たしました。
　　　　フリースピーチ部門3位入賞　板橋直人（12年生）
　板橋くんは、ドイツのハンブルクから帰国し、SISの7年生に入学した当初からずっとドイツ語を続けてきていました。高校生最後の年にこのような大きなイベントに参加し、入賞できたことは、すばらしいことです。おめでとう！

Start Deutsch 1に合格
　同じく7月末に大阪にあるドイツ文化センター(Goethe-Institut)で行われたドイツ語検定試験で、SISから2名が受検し、みごと合格しました。

　Start Deutsch 1（スタートドイツ語1）は欧州評議会で認められている外国語能力レベルのA1レベルに到達していることを証明するための試験です。この試験はドイツ本国のみならず、国際的に認められており、読む、書く、話す、聞くのすべての能力を問う形式で行われています。　　　

 

 

熊楠の里音楽コンクール入賞

第15回熊楠の里音楽コンクール（田辺・御坊地方拠点都市文化推進事業。同コンクール実行委員会主催、紀伊民報協賛）本選が8月19日、和歌山県田辺市の紀南文化会館大ホールで開かれ、ピアノ、チェロ、バイオリンの３部門に県内外の61人が出場し39人が入賞、このうちチェロ部門中学生クラスでSIS8年の杉本環紀さんが1位を獲得しました。

杉本環紀さんの話「うれしく思っています。今後は大きなホールでも豊かな響きで演奏できるよう、表現の幅を広げたいと思います。」

 

囲碁ジュニアチャンピオン戦棋力別クラスで優勝

8月7日から11日の5日間にかけて、近鉄百貨店阿倍野店で第36回近鉄囲碁まつりが行われました。そのイベントのひとつとして9日にスポニチ杯争奪ジュニアチャンピオン戦という大会が開催され、囲碁部から迫田健太君(SIS10年)が棋力別Cクラスに出場しました。迫田君は囲碁大会に参加するのはこれが初めてです。棋力別クラスはハンデ戦のトーナメント方式で、最後まで勝ちあがった人が優勝となります。

1回戦は迫田君にとって初めて下の級位の相手との対局でしたが、ハンデの多さに苦しみながらも見事勝利し2回戦に進みました。その後は上の級の人を相手に3連勝して、なんとクラス優勝をはたしました。囲碁部からの優勝はこれが初めてです。表彰式のあと、迫田君は副賞としてプロ棋士の山下敬吾棋聖の指導碁(9路盤)を受け、貴重な経験となりました。迫田君のこれからの活躍が期待されます。
