卒業生と千里国際の伝統

SIS 校長

8月から9月にかけて卒業生が大勢、校長室を訪問してくれた。浪人中の報告に来たこの春の卒業生、夏休み中の大学生もいれば、大学院卒業後の就職が決まった者もいた。そして卒業から10年以上経って、一児の父となった人はひとつの大きなプロジェクトが終わり、午後休を取ったら自然と足が学校に向いたと言っていた。私が忙しくて、せっかく来てくれたのに会えなかった人や廊下で短い立ち話しかできなかった人もいた。シアターが満員となった学校説明会で卒業生代表としてSIS入学から現在までの話をしてくれた卒業生もいた。SISの教育が彼らに与えたものを本音で話したり、会場からの質問に堂々と答えてくれたりしていた。それを聞いていた教職員達が嬉しくて涙が出そうになったのに彼らは気付いただろうか。

The cool spring weather is upon us and, as the new 7th graders run about the courtyard at lunchtime, playing “hide and seek” or tag, I sit in the relative quiet of the head’s office watching them play as I start to write these words.

I follow Mr Osaka into the position as head of SIS. Mr Osako led our school for ten years and, while I may not compare with Mr Osako or have his experience, I intend to bring with me my own kind of experience and flexible approach in committing myself to the position. At this very important juncture, I look forward to helping move SIS forward and, with everyone’s support, improve the school even more.
